Essendon forward Kyle Langford has strongly condemned Jeremy Finlayson’s use of a homophobic slur during Friday night’s clash against Port Adelaide.

Finlayson has since admitted he made the slur towards an Essendon player, with the incident still under AFL investigation.

“I am aware of (the slur),” Langford told Wide World of Sports.

“Any kind of homophobic language is just not acceptable in today’s game or even society. It will be dealt with.

“It shouldn’t be any different to any kind of racial slur. It is not acceptable and Jeremy (Finlayson) has owned up to it.”

Langford also spoke about the reaction the club’s 69-point hammering at the hands of Port Adelaide, conceding they were beaten by “what we know”.
