Organ donation foundation slams ‘selfish’ senator

Derryn Hinch has been branded “selfish” and an “embarrassment” by the head of Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation after he revealed he was drinking alcohol again.

Mr Hinch was rushed to hospital on Monday after falling from an Uber and losing consciousness.

He admits to having a couple of glasses of wine on the night.

Speaking on 3AW Drive, Allan Turner said he was outraged to hear Mr Hinch was drinking, given it was the very reason he needed a liver transplant.

“The statistics prove there are people out there dying while waiting for transplants,” he said.

“Here’s a guy who was very, very lucky at the age of 67 to receive a transplant and a second chance at life.”
