Entertainment reporter Peter Ford says Aussie prison drama Wentworth has been saved, months after it was confirmed the series would not be renewed.

“About five or six months ago I reported Wentworth, the TV show on Foxtel, the re-imagining of Prisoner, was getting the chop,” Pete told Ross and John.

“The public loved it, they have a very strong, determined fan base.

“The good news is, Wentworth has been saved.”

Pete said the series has been renewed for another 20 episodes.

“Next year’s series has already been filmed, so this will take them through until 2022, so that should keep fans very happy today,” he said.
