Jimmy Bartel has given his thoughts on the plans for the new stadium at Macquarie Point in Hobart, which is a pivotal part of the deal to introduce a 19th team into the AFL.

Bartel thinks the “plan is too small”, and has given his idea which would’ve made it more difficult for those who oppose of the stadium to reject it.

“I like a little bit of left-field thinking,” he said on Wide World of Sports.

Sam McClure has been covering the story down in Tasmania closely, and provided fresh details on Friday night on how AFL House and clubs have reacted to the uncertainty surrounding the team.

“My understanding tonight, is that there is at least two commissioners who will question on Tuesday whether the team should be delayed in its inception year of 2028,” he said.
