Dwayne Russell has a simple warning to the 800 AFL players out there.
“Don’t stuff it up.”
AFL players earned a 28 per cent pay rise on Tuesday, prompting Dwayne to claim there’s never been a better time to be an AFL player.
“To get an average wage of $375,000 per year to play the sport they love, it’s a pretty good gig. It’s a dream job,” Dwayne said on Sportsday.
“Stay of drugs, be respectful to women, and make sure you enjoy it.”
Tony Shaw said you’d have to be “dumb” to throw away an AFL career with off-field indiscretions.
