Gil McLachlan on runners, The Killers, and buying Channel 10

The future of runners in the AFL is in serious doubt after a Gil McLachlan interview with Neil Mitchell today.

The AFL boss confirmed his football department is set to start talking with clubs about the need for runners.

“I’m really encouraged to hear coaches saying ‘Get the runners off the field’,” he said on 3AW.

“Players are coming off so regularly, the coach can talk to them directly.”
