Mick Warner roasts the AFL over threats to strip accreditation

Mick Warner has roasted the AFL over the latest talk of stripping accreditation.

After Nathan Buckley suggested stripping media members of their accreditation when they “make things up”, AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan said the idea is worth looking at.

But Mick told 3AW Football the idea is “ridiculous”.

“First of all, accreditation is nothing more than a free ticket to the football,” Mick said.

“Second, how would it actually play out?

“What about last year when Collingwood spent the whole year telling us that Gubby Allen would not be replacing Neil Balme? Do we have to take their accreditations off them?

“It thought the whole thing was quite sad. Pathetic, even.”
