Port Adelaide footy boss Chris Davies admits the Power would have made a “different decision” with Aliir Aliir after Saturday night’s sickening clash with Lachie Jones if they had their time again.

The Power were issued with a “please explain” from the AFL on Monday over their response to the incident.

The Power have since opted to place both players in concussion protocols out of an “abundance” of caution, meaning both will unavailable to play in this week’s crunch clash with Geelong.

The AFL have asked the Power why Aliir was not required to undertake a SCAT5 concussion test.

Aliir did not undergo a head injury assessment while Jones was subbed out of the game.

Veteran sports doctor Peter Larkins admitted on 3AW it was “unusual” Aliir was allowed back on the ground.
