‘Pretty silly’: Tom Elliott weighs in on Raygun’s performance at the Olympics
Tom Elliott has weighed in on the breakdancing at the Paris Olympics and in particular, Australian Rachael Gunn’s performance under the name “Raygun”.
Gunn, who is a university professor with a PhD in cultural studies, has been widely mocked for her performance which saw her awarded zero points, and the 3AW Mornings host thought her routine was “pretty silly”.
And it led him to question breakdancing as an Olympic sport, with breaking already scrapped for the 2028 games in Los Angeles.

“I don’t think breakdancing should be in the Olympics, it’s a stupid idea,” he said.
“The Olympics should be better than that.”
Former rugby union player, journalist and author Peter FitzSimons had a different view, despite thinking breaking likely won’t return to the Olympics.
“I thought Raygun was fantastic,” he told Tom Elliott.
“It was fun, it was joyous and the world had a laugh.”
