Reality TV star speaks out against new cosmetic surgery rules
A reality TV star who has undergone several cosmetic procedures has spoken out against tough new cosmetic surgery rules set to come into force on July 1.
Under the new rules, those undergoing plastic surgery will need a GP referral, and some may be referred to a psychiatrist for assessment before surgery.
Jessika Power, who has had an autologous fat transfer from her thighs to her breasts, fillers and Botox, told 3AW’s Neil Mitchell it’s “definitely not” an approach she supports.

“With psychologists, they’re going to be inundated with requests from young women, young men, and where is that going to take the healthcare system?,” she said.
“I mean, if you’re old enough to have it done then you’re old enough to make your own choices and that’s all it should be.”
Many working in cosmetic surgery have labelled the new rules unnecessary, saying they already involve GPs in necessary cases.
