Sam Walsh’s foot injury was ‘out of the blue’ for Carlton playing group

Carlton superstar Sam Walsh is set to miss up to six weeks, after scans found a hotspot in his foot on Saturday morning.

On 3AW Football, Blues teammate Nic Newman says the midfielder’s injury was “unexpected for everyone” and will be “sorely missed” over the next block of games.

“It was a bit out of the blue and it was for us as well,” Newman said.

“Really disappointed for him, feels like when he starts to get going something unfortunate happens to him.”
