Reigning GWS best-and-fairest winner to have shoulder reconstruction

Tim Taranto will miss the first half of the season.

In a huge blow for GWS, the gun midfielder, who won the club’s best and fairest last season, will have shoulder surgery this week.

He needs it reconstructed after it was dislocated in the opening minutes of the Marsh Community Series match against the Swans.

The 22-year-old is expected to be sidelined between four and five months.
