Channel 7 Chief Football Reporter, Mitch Cleary, has shed light on the “quite bizarre” situation involving Port Adelaide forward Willie Rioli and Western Bulldogs defender Bailey Dale.

Rioli was involved in an on-field incident where he appeared to strike Dale during Saturday’s game in Ballarat, but it was an alleged text message Rioli sent to Dale after the game which has landed him in hot water.

“It may’ve been said tongue in cheek, but that’s not how the Bulldogs took it,” Cleary told Jimmy Bartel on Wide World of Sports.

“It’s safe to say that Port Adelaide are quite bemused by Willie’s handling of this whole situation, he’ll be getting a fair talking to.”
