Matthew Richardson says he’ll be forever indebted to the Richmond football club after he was asked to hand over the premiership cup to Damien Hardwick and Trent Cotchin.

But the Tiger great admits not everything went to plan!

Speaking on Sportsday, Richardson confessed he wanted to stay composed. But emotion got the better of him!

“You feel like a bit of a dill, because it’s not about you – it’s about the team that played,” Richo said on 3AW.

“I had to give a fist-pump.

“It was just incredible.”
