Ross Greenwood responds to latest Royal Commission revelations

Finance editor Ross Greenwood has shared his thoughts on the “fundamental problem” that has emerged during the Royal Commission on the banking sector.

He told 3AW he expected the latest revelations to dominate headlines for the rest of the week.

Greenwood said it had become clear most of the banks and financial institutions treated the regulator with contempt.

“I’ve lived through financial collapses and real falls but what the Royal Commission is unearthing is a fundamental problem where many of the big banks and life insurance companies in Australia appear not be frightened of the regulator,” he said.
