Ross Lyon responds to conjecture about assistant coach appointments

St Kilda coach Ross Lyon has addressed any concerns about the process that saw his former players Robert Harvey, Lenny Hayes and Brendon Goddard return to the club in coaching roles.

Lyon assured St Kilda fans there had been “rigour” applied internally to the appointments, with Hayes returning to the club long before Lyon was on the radar to return as coach.

“It wasn’t just a tap on the head and they were in,” Lyon told 3AW’s Wide World of Sports.
