RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Dramatic arrest in Melbourne’s east

Police have dramatically arrested a man in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.

‘Pat The Real Plumber’ told 3AW Breakfast’s Rumour File he witnessed a ‘very well planned sting’ by Victoria Police on Friday, February 3. 

The Rumour File contributor said: ‘it all unfolded in front of us.’

‘They (police) had done their homework on these two as they knew them by their first names at the time they grabbed them,’ the contributor said.

Victoria Police spokeswoman Kendra Jackson confirmed police arrested a man last week following an investigation into an alleged series of deceptions in Eltham North.

‘Box Hill Embona Taskforce detectives arrested the man at a residence in The Avenue, Blackburn about 10am on Friday 3 February,’ she said. 

‘A 22-year-old man was charged with two counts of obtain property by deception.

‘He fronted Melbourne Magistrates’ Court that afternoon.’
