RUMOUR FILE: The Royal Eye and Ear Hospital is moving.

Eye’s and Ear’s called into the Rumour File this morning to tell Ross and John about the The Royal Eye and Ear Hospital moving from Peter MacCallum to the Vic Comprehensive Cancer Centre.

Services that move to the new location will relocate back to 32 Gisborne Street when the redevelopment is completed in 2018.

The relocation will allow the builders to complete the redevelopment faster and in a less disruptive manner.

They expect to be providing service to patients at the new site from 8am on Monday 29 August.

Eye and Ear’s Emergency Department, Main Theatres, Inpatient Ward, Cochlear Implant Clinic and Acute Ophthalmology Service will remain at the main campus, 32 Gisborne Street.  

Patients will be provided with more information in appointment letters.
