Rumour too cute to be true? Nope!

Yesterday, the Rumour File was told of a little girl in the western suburbs who had asked her birthday party guests not to bring presents, but rather invest in toys, blankets, and food for an animal charity.

The result was a sizeable donation that she then dropped off at the charity over the weekend.

Sounds too good to be true?

Nope. Meet Ivy, 4.

Ross and John this morning tracked down her mother, Loryn Fijac, who confirmed the rumour, saying a local lost dogs home was the thankful recipient.

“She has done it before, she’s done it since her first birthday … but it’s the first year she’s been old enough to understand what was going on,” Ms Fijac said.

• 5-6 bags of dog food
• Lots of toys

“We had people who weren’t even at the party who came to drop off donations,” she said.
