Sam McClure blasts AFLPA statement following Lachie Cowan suspension
Sam McClure has blasted the AFL Players Association following the suspension to Carlton’s Lachie Cowan.
Cowan was handed a two-match ban and $5,000 fine following an investigation into his use of an illicit substance, while teammate Wade Derksen has also been suspended three matches for drink driving in the Northern Territory.
But McClure took exception to what AFLPA CEO James Gallagher had to say in a statement following the Cowan suspension in particular.

“I don’t think they are helped by the union that represents them,” McClure told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.
“You can’t have it both ways.”
