Selwood out for the rest of the home and away season

Geelong captain Joel Selwood’s home and away season is over.
Selwood injured his ankle under a tackle in Geelong’s loss to Sydney on Friday night.
He will undergo surgery on his left ankle after suffering a syndesmosis injury.
The decision came after consulting with specialists in the field.
The Cats expect Selwood to be able to return for the finals after three matches and the week off.
But leading sports medic Peter Larkins isn’t as confident:
Joel Selwood to have similar ankle repair surgery to bulldog Tom Liberatore- return possible in 5- 6 weeks if all goes well
