Shadow police minister, Brad Battin, has weighed in on the lack of negotiations between the state government and police officers.

He says it’s disrespectful to the police for the government to claim negotiations are taking place in good faith when they’re not ‘sitting at the table’.

“I think the challenge here, from the government, is the police minister … They’ve got to host the table and if he can’t do it, it’s up to Jacinta Allan now as the Premier to intervene,” he told Tony Jones.

He also weighed in on officers gate crashing a press conference by energy minister Lily D’Ambrosio earlier today.

“I’ll say to police members, you’ve got to keep doing what you’ve got to do, you’ve got to raise your voice, because the reality is, the government is not at the table,” he said.
