Tasmania looks to Launceston: Stadium delays pushes Devils north

Brendon Gale has revealed to 3AW Football that the majority of games before Tasmania’s new Hobart stadium will be hosted in Launceston.

The Macquarie Point Stadium is currently projected to be ready by 2031, three years after the team enters the AFL.

Hobart is clearly the capital, it’s the biggest city, that’s where we’ll be based,” Gale said on 3AW Football.

“It’s fair to say an upgraded UTAS in Launceston will be a superior football venue.

“It’s probably fair to say we’ll be playing the majority of our games in the intervening years there.”
