Police were forced to use capsicum spray in arresting four teenage girls after a brawl in Altona overnight.

Officers responded to reports of a brawl near Pier Street just after 7pm and on arrival found a large number of people in the area.

Police found four girls behaving in an offensive manner, one tried to flee and subsequently arrested.

Her three companions then became involved in an altercation with police, officers then forced to use capsicum spray to subdue them.

An 18-year-old Point Cook woman charged with theft and commit indictable offence while on bail, she was charged and bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in February next year.

Two 17-year-old girls, one from Braybrook, the other from Bundoora were cautioned for resist police.

A 17-year-old Tarneit girl expected to be charged on summons with resist police and offensive behaviour.

It comes at the same time as similar events on the Cheslea foreshore and St Kilda foreshore last night.
