‘The AFL needs to intervene’ | Caro says politics is engulfing the Saints

Caroline Wilson has called on the AFL to step in to help St Kilda steady its ship.

As the Saints’ season flops on the field, their crisis continues to deepen off it.

And Caro told 3AW Football “politics galore” is engulfing the club.

“There’s all sorts of stuff happening behind the scenes, as happens at a footy club when they’re in crisis,” Caro said.

“Make no mistake: there is politics galore happening at St Kilda.

“I think the AFL need to intervene.

“I’m surprised Gillon McLachlan hasn’t intervened.

“(Football manager) Simon Lethlean and (CEO) Matt Finnis deny there’s any tension between them. They say they’re working together ferociously to fix this problem.

“But it’s not good, and the coach is looking increasingly insecure, in my view.”
