South Australia continues to push its case for a long-term Gather Round extension.

Hosting rights for the annual round – played entirely in South Australia for the last four years – expire at the end of 2026.

And while SA Premier Peter Malinauskas continues to push for a contract extension, there’s one aspect of the format’s future which Leigh Matthews ‘disputes’
