The conversation that cemented Carlton as Adam Cerra’s club of choice

Adam Cerra became a Blue today, with Carlton securing the young midfielder on a four-year deal on day four of the trade period.

Cerra, who turned 22 today, says coffee with Patrick Cripps in Perth confirmed Carlton was the club for him.

“It was good to catch up with Crippa to get a player’s insight into what the group of boys are like, and what the group feel is, especially with all the changes in the last couple of months,” Cerra told Sportsday.

“It didn’t sound like it was breaking up the club or anything, it still felt like all that strong connection, strong feeling of belonging and care for everyone, which I think is really important in a football club.

“It just got me really excited and made me want to be a part of it even more.”
