The possible reason why many motorists were nabbed speeding on busy Melbourne road
Road Safety Camera Commissioner Neville Taylor and Victorian Transport Association CEO Peter Anderson joined Neil Mitchell to discuss the Western Ring Road, and why 110,000 motorists were caught speeding during a six-month period in 2021/22 on the road.
Mr Taylor said “we’ve got to be careful” when jumping to conclusions on such a big number like 110,000, stating there’s 29 speed cameras on that particular road, but alluded to a certain camera which isn’t a speed camera, and could be to blame.

“It might be there’s some confusion around what the cameras are seeing and what they’re actually doing,” Mr Taylor said.
Mr Taylor and Mr Anderson vowed to keep in discussion to get to the bottom of the issue.
