The teammate who Mitch Lewis thinks is ‘ageing like a fine wine’

Mitch Lewis hopes veteran forward Jack Gunston opts to extend his career into 2026.

The 33-year-old is arguably in career-best form, kicking 45 goals so far in his second stint back at Hawthorn.

Lewis said he was in awe watching his fellow tall go to work, hoping he plays on next season.

“He’s ageing like a fine wine,” Lewis told 3AW Football about Gunston.

“He could go on again next year if he wanted to.”

Lewis also had high praise for young forward Calsher Dear, who also impressed in Thursday night’s win over Carlton.
