The time Matthew Lloyd was asked to pretend he wasn’t playing!

Matthew Lloyd has detailed the time he was asked by Kevin Sheedy to pretend he wouldn’t be playing against Collingwood due to a shoulder.

The issue was discussed on 3AW Football on Friday after Sam Kerr was a late withdrawal for the Matildas in their World Cup opener.

Lloyd played injured against Collingwood after hurting his shoulder the week before, but was asked by his coach to pretend he hadn’t got up for the game at training on the Thursday.
