Hawthorn star officially on the trade table

Ryan Burton is officially on the trade table.

That’s the word from Trade Wrap newsbreaker Mitch Cleary in the wake of Port Adelaide’s Chad Wingard requesting a trade to Hawks.

The 21-year-old, who narrowly missed out on winning the Rising Star award in 2017, could potentially be on the way back to his home state of South Australia to join the power.

“The Hawks are prepared to move him and the Power want him,” he said.

“I think it’s going to be Burton and a pick for Chad Wingard.”

Jarrad Waite said it was a high price for the Hawks to pay if they wanted to secure Wingard’s services.

“It should be a straight swap – Burton for Wingard,” he said.

“Burton is a young and up-and-coming key defender who had a breakout year so Port Adelaide would be very happy (with that deal).”
