‘This is criminal’: Tony Shaw condemns ‘disgraceful’ threat made towards Michael Voss

Tony Shaw has strongly condemned the “disgraceful” threat made towards Carlton head coach Michael Voss, which is now in the hands of the AFL integrity department.

The shocking threat is understood to reference a “brutal end to his life”, and the Collingwood great hopes charges are laid for whoever made the threat.

“This is criminal,” Shaw told Tony Jones on 3AW Mornings.

“They have a very, very passionate fan base, but this goes way beyond passion,” Jones said.

The Blues coach then addressed the threat at his press conference on Wednesday morning, saying he expects a “forthright” response from the AFL integrity department.

“We don’t tolerate that as an industry,” Voss said.

It’s been reported the man behind the text, sent via the MCG’s anti-social behaviour hotline, has been identified.

While police found no criminal offence, the AFL or Carlton could still strip the man of his membership.
