‘Thousands’ of jobs at risk following gas ban

Those working in the gas industry are bracing for the impact of the Andrews government gas ban on homes built in Victoria from January 1st of 2024.

President of the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association of Australia Ross Jamieson says the government’s decision is “shortsighted” and will threaten the industry’s survival.

“It might be 3000 or 4000 jobs that go out of Victoria it could be more,” he told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
