Todd Viney comments on president Sonja Hood quitting social media over abuse

North Melbourne football boss Todd Viney says the club will continue to be transparent in the media, despite president Sonja Hood opting to shut down her X (formally known as Twitter) account due to abuse.

Hood – who has been an active user of her account to inform fans – quit the platform earlier this month due to the torrid of abuse she’s received as the club’s poor run of form continues.

“Our values are really strong at the club,” Viney said on 3AW Football.

“We’ve tried to be open and honest…it’s unfortunate in that social media field that you’re going to get that occasional keyboard warrior.

“We understand the pitfalls of (social media)…it’s time when it gets too much.”
