Todd Viney doubles down on ‘extraordinarily poor’ Kane Cornes comments

North Melbourne football boss Todd Viney doesn’t regret taking the step of banning commentator Kane Cornes from a scheduled pre-game interview.

The club opted to ban Cornes from a planned pre-game interview with coach Alastair Clarkson, following his comments on Harry Sheezel earlier in the week.

Viney told Wide World of Sports Cornes’ comments on Jy Simpkin were also “extraordinarily poor”, while doubling down on the nature of the ban.

“It just got to a point where the commentary towards some of our people has been below par,” he said.

“It’s been constant with not a lot of opportunity to reply to it.”
