Tom Barrass opens up about Sam Mitchell’s key role in recruiting players to Hawthorn

The Hawks are through to the preliminary final for the first time in Sam Mitchell’s coaching tenure and their continual activeness in free agency and trade has played a massive part in their success.

Hawthorn defender Tom Barrass joined 3AW Football and opened up about how Mitchell sold Hawthorn to him and other star recruits.

“Sam is a great educator and a really in-depth thinker,” Barrass said on 3AW Football.

“It was just having a new person, coming with a new opportunity and sort of saying there is more to learn, there is more to this career and more to life.”
