Tom Elliott calls out Hawks fans over poor behaviour following prelim final loss

The Brisbane Lions’ last-minute preliminary final victory over the Hawthorn Hawks was dampened by the reaction of some Hawks fans following the loss.

3AW Mornings host Tom Elliott said that this sort of behaviour had to be removed from the game.

“I don’t mind people booing and jeering and venting their spleens a bit, but throwing things at someone because you do not like the decision is obviously not on,” he said

AFL Fans Association president Ron Issko said it was a disappointing end to one of the best games he’s ever seen.

“In my five decades of going to the football, I’ve never seen [that] amount of cans and bottles thrown on the MCG,” he said.
