The Australian Taxation Office announced that it would not accept credit card payments from December 1.

3AW Mornings host Tom Elliott questioned the decision, noting the potential impact it would have on small businesses in particular.

“So the government has said, ‘We can’t have surcharges on credit cards anymore,’ and the tax office, which is basically run by the government, has said, ‘We won’t even accept credit cards anymore’. How is this fair?” he said.
