Tom Elliott has questioned why sports are funded in the first place, after Australian Olympic Committee CEO Matt Carroll stated the committee faced a two billion dollar shortage in funding.

The 3AW Drive host wonders who would pay for the funding shortage and questions what the funding would achieve for the nation.

“You need to be clear about your goal, before you start chucking money into something,” he said.
