Tom Elliott says AFL official must resign over umpire confrontation

Tom Elliott says Michael Christian must resign after it was revealed he confronted a grassroots footy umpire mid-match.

The 3AW Drive host said it was “simply unconscionable” for a senior AFL official to act in that manner.

Christian is the league’s Match Review Officer.

“Michael Christian has to go today,” Tom Elliott said.

“If he won’t resign, Gillon McLachlan has to sack him.”
