Collingwood premiership player and Brownlow medallist, Tom Mitchell, has reflected on his 207 game AFL career after announcing his retirement this week.

Mitchell told 3AW “it was just my time” after being delisted by the Pies at the end of last season, but he says he’s got plenty in store post his playing days.

“I think experience has shown to be successful for a number of years,” Mitchell said on Wide World of Sports.

“The Pies were only one win away from playing in a granny last year and the same narrative was going around, so I still think they’re going to be really strong.”
