Tom Rockliff reveals why he joined Port Adelaide

An “excited” Tom Rockliff has revealed why he joined Port Adelaide.

The former Brisbane captain is officially a Power player after the Lions chose not to match the four-year offer tabled to the midfielder.

Speaking on Sportsday, Rockliff said a “number” of factors influenced his decision.

“I think security, in the end, was a big factor for me,” he told 3AW.

“A number of factors went into it.

“Obviously with a young family, I’ve got to think about them, as much as myself.

“Once you have a child your life changes dramatically.

“I wanted to make sure I could hopefully set our family up really well and Port Adelaide gave us that opportunity with the four-year deal.”
