Tony Jones has fired up over the “vile” racist abuse on social media aimed at Saints defender Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera after Sunday afternoon’s loss to Sydney.

Jones thinks the AFL needs to have a framework and set penalties for abuse and threats after recent incidents involving Wanganeen-Milera, Jack Graham, Willie Rioli and Michael Voss.

“The whole penalty system is out of kilter at the moment,” Jones told Tom Elliott on 3AW Mornings.

Press PLAY to hear him fire up about the penalty system after recent incidents of abuse

“There is no way that someone of an Indigenous background should put up with the crap and the vile messages that Wanganeen-Milera is having to put up with at the moment.

“Good on him for calling it out.”
