Ryan Burton should leave Hawthorn, says Ryan O’Keefe
Former Sydney Swans star Ryan O’Keefe has urged Ryan Burton to accept Port Adelaide’s long-term offer and turn his back on the Hawks.
It emerged late last week that Burton was being put up on the trade table as part of the deal to snare Chad Wingard and O’Keefe told Trade Wrap he’d leave if put in a similar position.
“If it’s not this year, it could be next year (that he could be put up for trade),” he said.
“If there’s a good deal on the table from Port Adelaide – a club that wants him – I’d be taking it.
Scrimshaw deal to go through tomorrow
Mitch Cleary is confident Jack Scrimshaw will be confirmed as a Hawthorn player tomorrow.
The Suns player, who has played just four games in two years after being drafted, is set to land up at the club he supported as a child.
“A future pick will be involved in this one,” he told Trade Wrap.
“He can’t wait to play under (Hawthorn coach) Alastair Clarkson and potentially with Tom Scully and Chad Wingard.”
Club show minimal interest in Michael Barlow
Michael Barlow’s hopes of re-kindling an AFL career are fading.
Mitch Cleary said there’s been “minimal” interest in the former Sun and Docker.
“It’s pretty lean at the moment, Cleary old Trade Wrap.
“I’d love to see him get another opportunity at a third club but I think he’ll be up against it (to play AFL in 2019).”
