Trade Wrap newsbreaker “wouldn’t rule out” surprise move for sidelined Cat
AFL newsbreaker Mitch Cleary “wouldn’t rule out” Gold Coast making a play for out-of-favour Geelong forward Daniel Menzel.
The 27-year-old unrestricted free agent has again been told by the Cats to look elsewhere and Cleary said he was still holding out for a multi-year contract extension.
“He’s still waiting around for that two-year deal,” he told the Trade Wrap.
“It feels like it’s going to be the same as last year, it’s going to go to the end of the trade period and the Cats will have a one-year deal for him on minimum money.
“If the Suns (offer him) a two-year deal, he’ll be on the flight as soon as you can say ‘Suns’.”
