VFA legend Phil Cleary issues strong message towards the AFL

VFA legend Phil Cleary has issued a strong message towards the AFL, in order to grow the game at the state level.

Cleary spoke passionately about how the AFL can help grow the second tier competitions around the country, and had some ideas while speaking with Jimmy Bartel on Sports Today.

“I think you’re seeing signs that these clubs, with proper promotion from AFL level could capture the public’s imagination,” Cleary said.

 “If you want to grow your game, you’ve got to put the money into investment, into infrastructure, into clubs.”
