Victorian club makes late play for former St Kilda skipper

Melbourne has emerged as a contender to sign Jack Steele before Wednesday night’s trade deadline.

St Kilda has urged its former skipper to explore his options, with the Dees making a late play to secure his services.

Matthew Lloyd said Steele’s move to Melbourne makes sense for all parties.

“I think he should take it because it might extend his career for a year or two,” he said on 3AW Afternoons.
