The State Emergency Service is urging motorists to take care today after wild weather saw 800 requests for assistance for fallen trees yesterday.

SES chief officer Tim Wiebusch says there’s still a risk in heavily-treed areas.

“We’re still alerting motorists to be particularly cautious on roads in heavily treed areas,” he told Neil Mitchell.

Damaging winds saw the SES receive almost 1000 requests for assistance in 24 hours yesterday, with about 30 requests still outstanding.
