Victorians are being urged to take care around the water today after three drowning deaths and a slew of near misses in the past 48 hours.

Yesterday, a 17-year-old died at Mordialloc and a man in his 30s died after a medical episode in a lake near Albury-Wodonga. Meanwhile, a 19-year-old died at Lorne on Christmas Day.

Director of Learn to Swim Victoria, Joanne Love, said the most important thing people can do is “have somebody with you when you swim”.
