‘We got our man’: Dees CEO reveals why Steven King was chosen over Nathan Buckley

The Demons have appointed Geelong assistant coach Steven King as their new senior coach, only three days after the club started interviewing candidates for the role.

Melbourne CEO Paul Guerra joined 3AW Football to discuss the overall process and spoke about what impressed him and the selection panel the most about King’s pitch.

“We’re really happy to have appointed Steven to take our club forward,” Guerra said on 3AW Football.

“Once we landed on Steven, let’s not wait and lets get the decision out there, so that he’s clear about what he needs to do and as a football club we’re clear on what we need to do.”
